Welcome! Having a direct relationship with plants—in the woods, in the garden, and in the kitchen—is an essential part of my health and well-being. I enjoy sharing that experience with others who are looking to enrich their life through the benefits of plants and gardens.
GARDEN THERAPY
I like to think most of the world's problems can be solved in the garden. Gardens provide food for nourishment, fiber for craft, medicine for healing, and activity for our body—as well as beauty, connection with nature, and sensory delight for our mind and soul. Preparing a meal or medicinal from plants tended and harvested by your own hands brings a deep satisfaction and pleasure. Simply sitting with or walking amongst plants brings a noticeable ease and alignment with nature's rhythm. Now more than ever we need this green therapy to balance our mechanized digitized lifestyles. Are you ready to cultivate a relationship with your plant allies?

HERBS & HERBAL CARE
Not long ago every household would have had a least a few medicinal herbal preparations on hand, and every family member would have known the medicinal benefits of at least a few local plants—yarrow leaf to stop bleeding, slippery elm bark to soothe a sore throat, willow bark to ease pain. Sadly, within the last century this knowledge and skill has largely been displaced by corporate industrial medicine. A trained herbalist can be a valuable addition to your care team. Modern herbalists draw on thousands of years of tradition supported by current evidence-based scientific research. Herbalism as a practice is inclusive of many different cultural traditions, schools of thought, theories, and methods. It may take some shopping around to find an herbalist that is a good fit for you. Always seek trustworthy sources and guidance from an experienced practitioner to assure safe and effective care. Are you ready to reclaim your herbal heritage?

A sunny day in the garden is your idea of a hot date.
You like to combine logical analysis of scientific evidence with intuitive understanding of your body.
You believe small, consistent changes in daily habits lead to significant health changes.
You're ready to make health choices based on your own personal health philosophy rather than external pressure.
You're ready to embrace that the plants are in control, not us.
We may NOT be a good fit if...
You don't like to get your hands dirty.
You want a supplement or herb instead of having to change eating or lifestyle habits.
You can't laugh at yourself (or me!)
Your only way to communicate is by phone.
You're in a hurry.
"Plants have thoroughly gotten to me—but of course the reality is, they've had me all along. Plants made me, after all."
- Zoë Schlanger
A sense of belonging to a place comes from building relationships—to the plants, to the soil, to the cycles and patterns of the land. You may know the plant's name, but does it know yours?
